ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Match Preview

ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A - 3 day First Class match - WACA Ground Perth

Pitch: 95 - Dry, dusty and bumpy. This is a poor quality wicket, unsuitable for a five day match and the batsmen look to be in for a torrid time. The bounce is likely to be varied but generally high, fast bowlers are likely to prosper. If the lack of moisture in the pitch causes it to crumble later in the match as is expected it may become potentially dangerous.

Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny

ACB Chairman's XI:

M.R.J.Veletta (c)
G.S.Blewett RM
J.L.Langer
D.R.Martyn
D.S.Lehmann SLA
M.G.Bevan SLC
T.J.Zoehrer (wk)
G.B.Hogg SLC
B.P.Julian LFM
J.Angel RF
S.C.G.MacGill LBG

Pakistan A XI:

Zahoor Elahi
Shakeel Ahmed jnr (wk)
Rizwan-uz-Zaman LBG
Asif Mujtaba (c) SLA
Atif Rauf
Basit Ali
Naved Anjum RFM
Saqlain Mushtaq OB
Shakeel Ahmed snr SLA
Zakir Khan RFM
Kabir Khan LFM

ACB Chairman's XI named a strong lineup, though only opener and captain Veletta, and keeper Zoehrer have previous international experience.
The bowling attack is spin heavy, though seamers Angel and Julian have talent and could cause problems.
After Veletta, South Australian Darren Lehmann is the next most experienced batsman, though selectors at this stage have doubts about his temperament.
Pakistan A are lead by experienced batsman Asif Mujtaba, with Rizwan-uz-Zaman, Zakir Khan, and Naved Anjum the others with international experience.
The spin attack is one to watch, with Arshad Khan also in the squad but not making the XI for this match.

The experienced Mike Veletta captains the ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A in Perth
