Young Indians v West Indies A - T20 match 1991/2 - Match Report

Young Indians v West Indies A - T20 match 1991/2 - Bangalore

Pitch: 3 - Normal

Weather: 2 - Hot and sunny

Toss: West Indies A

West Indies A won the toss, and elected to bat first, hoping to achieve their 1st win of the tour before the T20 Unofficial International series begins.
Campbell batted well early for a hard hitting 44, before Jacobs took over in the later overs, guiding them to 130 off their 20 overs.
Jacobs scored an unbeaten 44* as he added an unbroken 38* with tailender Franklyn Rose for the 9th wicket to give West Indies A their highest T20 total of the tour.
A varied attack did well to contain the visitors on a decent pitch, with Prasad and Hirwani again among the wickets.
In reply the Young Indians simply cruised, the openers posting close to 50 inside to the first 6 overs.
Though the rate slowed when Bangar was dismissed for an entertaining 34, Laxman carried on to a Man of the Match unbeaten 63* off 50 balls to see his side home.
Rawl Lewis bowled his legspin effectively for the visitors but received little support.
A 7 wicket defeat was West Indies A's 6th in limited overs matches on tour, and after 9 games they are still without a win.

Young Indians won by 7 wickets
