Young Indians won the toss and elected to bowl in over cast conditions perfect for swing bowling.
West Indies A laboured to 55/4 at barely 2 per over as no one made headway against the swinging ball.
Chanderpaul entered, and batted through the rest of the innings for an unbeaten 58*, holding his side together and ensuring they batted out their overs.
Hirwani 3-42 benefited from some loose batting in the later overs, while Bangar's swing and accuracy ensured West Indies A were never let off the hook.
Needing 168 to win, the Young Indians struggled initially, slipping to 49/3 as Cuffy bowled an accurate first spell.
Young Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar then took over, racing to 50 off 43 balls.
When he fell, Dravid and Dahiya could afford to take their time, before S.K.Sharma hit out at the end to see them across the line.
Young Indians won by 5 wickets with 7.3 overs to spare, Man of the Match was Sachin Tendulkar, his innings making the rest of the chase easy for the later batsmen.
