ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Match Report

ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - WACA Ground, Perth

Pitch: 7A - Fast paced wicket - favours Fast bowlers, increases batsmen's scoring rate

Weather: 3 - Sunny, some cloud about

Toss: Pakistan A

Pakistan A won the toss, and with conditions likely to provide quick scoring, elected to bat first.
The openers got them off to a good start, bet when both fell after entertaining cameos the rest struggled.
Darren Lehmann took 4-18 in the later overs to wreck the innings, and when Pakistan A's allrounders Manzoor Elahi and Naved Anjum fell for ducks, they could only scrape together 178/9 off their 50 overs.
The ACB Chairman's XI openers fell cheaply again, but young Western Australian batsmen Justin Langer and Damien Martyn won their team the match with an unbroken 146* run stand off 24.4 overs of classy strokeplay.
Revelling in his home conditions, Langer finished not out on 92* off 78 balls with 16 fours to suggest he is not just a possible Test player in the making but maybe a future ODI player as well.
Naved Anjum was again the best of the Pakistan A bowlers, but all of them struggled to contain the runs in another disappointing performance.

ACB Chairman's XI won by 8 wickets
