Young Indians v West Indies A - 3 day First Class match - Match Summary

Young Indians v West Indies A - 3 day First Class match - Ahmedabad

Pitch: 98

Toss: West Indies A

West Indies A won an important toss, and lead by 101 to young opener Sherwin Campbell in his 1st game of the tour totalled 332.
The Young Indians slipped to 66/4 in reply, before Dravid 101* and keeper Dahiya 68* added an unbroken 155* for the 5th wicket to enable the home team to declare.
West Indies A scrambled some runs on an uneven pitch in their 2nd Innings before a declaration at Lunch on Day 3 saw the Young Indians set 216 for victory on an uneven and turning pitch.
An opening partnership of 98 between Laxman and Bangar seemed to be guiding the home team to a win, before late wickets to legspinners Lewis and Chanderpaul caused a scare.
Bad Light brought the game to end, saving the home side a nervous 7 overs on a spinning pitch with fielders crowding around the bat.
Man of the Match was Rahul Dravid, his unbeaten knocks in both innings the difference between a draw and defeat for the home side.
The match was also notable for featuring a rare double failure by Young Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar.
