New Zealand A v England - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Match Summary

New Zealand A v England A - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Dunedin

Pitch: 70

Toss: England

An entertaining match, featuring a number of excellent performances, finished in a draw, though the crowd were mostly entertained by what they saw.
Some good middle order batting allowed New Zealand A from the loss of both openers for ducks in their 1st innings, while a century to Mike Atherton set up an England declaration.
Some good spin bowling by veteran John Emburey was the feature of the New Zealand A 2nd innings, before a declaration saw England set 200 off 43 overs to win on a wearing pitch.
England easily batted out time to leave the match drawn.
Man of the Match was Mike Atherton, his first innings century being the best batting of a match in which the bowlers generally had a good time of it.
