New Zealand A v England - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - England 1st Innings

New Zealand A v England - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Dunedin

England lost a couple of early wickets in their reply, but an unbeaten century to young opener Atherton on his 1st tour, and 72 to the experienced Allan Lamb restored order.
England declared as soon as Atherton scored his century, hoping a declaration could set up an exciting finish.
Seamer Willy Watson claimed 4-40 in an excellent display of seam bowling, but received little support.
New Zealand A took a lead of 76 into the 2nd innings, hoping for quick runs to set up a declaration on a wearing pitch.
