The West Indies openers shared another useful stand, continuing their consistent form on tour to add 55.
Offspinner Jayananda Warnaweera worked his way through the middle and lower order to claim 5 wickets, with an excellent 87 from Carlisle Best the only real resistance after the openers were partnered.
With time running out to force a result, West Indies captain Richie Richardson declared 34 behind on first innings, hoping to bowl the SLC XI out cheaply, or be set a chase in the 4th innings.
