SLC XI v West Indies - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Match Preview

SLC XI v West Indies - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Moratuwa

Pitch: 23 - A brown but slightly moist strip, suggesting that the bowlers might be favoured at some stage of the match. The local feeling is that the spinners may be best suited to the conditions by day 3 and there is also doubt about the wearing quality of the pitch so batting may become even more difficult in the closing stages.

Weather: 1 - Hot and humid - favours swing bowling

The SLCXI named an experienced lineup, with the majority of the team having Test experience.
The probably Sri Lankan Test spinners, Warnaweera and Anurasiri get a run, hoping to score some psychological blows before the international series begins.
West Indies tested their bench strength, with offspinner Roger Harper expected to get another long bowl in a bid to impress for a Test spot.
The SLC XI lineup should be competitive in this one, and with the pitch likely to wear badly, the toss could be important.
