An unbeaten 141* by India A captain Saurav Ganguly took his team to a total of 365, and a first innings lead of 171.
With Dravid also making 87, and M.Venkataramana sticking around long enough to double the lead, India A were left in a very strong position.
Fast bowler Tony Gray took 5-62 for West Indies A in some of their best pace bowling of the tour, but generally lacked support apart from an occasionally fired up Rose.
With almost 2 days left to play, India A had plenty of time to force a positive result and take a 1-0 lead in the 5 match series.
