India A slipped to 119/4 in their reply, and seemed under great pressure to avoid the follow on and a possible innings defeat.
A magnificent 212 run partnership for the 5th wicket between century makers Gursharan Singh and Nayan Mongia turned the game.
Gursharan made 143, and Mongia 113, and their partnership changed the match.
The later batsmen all made handy runs, and India A were eventually dismissed on the 4th day for 477, giving West Indies A a 23 run lead.
Nehemiah Perry deserved credit for taking 5 wickets with his offspin, showing patience and stamina in long spells.
Though the pitch was offering some help to the spinners, it was only occasional, and the India A batsmen generally dealt with it well.
With time running out, only a collapse of monumental proportions by either team can see a result from here.
