Pakistan lost opener Saeed Anwar cheaply, but half centuries to Aamer Sohail, Rameez Raja, and Inzamam-ul-Haq enabled Imran to declare 107 behind, in the hope of being set a target in the 4th innings.
Contributions from Javed and Imran as well meant the Pakistanis were never under any real pressure during their innings.
The pick of the bowlers was Schultz with his left arm pace, grabbing a couple of wickets, and being particularly hard to score off early on.
Aamer Sohail batted slowly, and Rameez and Inzamam were also restrained, but facing a big first innings total, it was what was required at the time.
The home team spinners were steady but lacked penetration, and would be hoping for greater assistance in the 2nd innings.
