The Indian Board XI started their innings hoping for quick runs in order to set up a declaration, in order to give themselves a chance of bowling West Indies A out a second time.
With time always an issue in 3 day matches, and showers having broken play a couple of days during the match, time was running out to force a result.
The West Indies A bowlers bowled better second time round, but 30 to Amre, and an unbeaten 54* from the in form Gursharan allowed the home team to declare and set the West Indies 200 to win in about 45 overs.
