Pitch: 5 - Normal
Weather: 2 - Hot and sunny
Toss: Indian Board XI
The Indian Board XI won the toss and elected to bat first, and though they lost a couple of early wickets, Gandhi and Gursharan repaired the damage in a 145 run stand at close to a run a ball.
Gandhi was unluckily out for a well paced 97, while Gursharan continued his good form with a quickfire 69.
Though late wickets to the spinners prevented the final charge getting out of hand, 36 to Bharadwaj and 20 to Dighe ensured the home team posted a hefty total of 261/9 off 50 overs.
West Indies A needed a good start, and the openers provided it, but when both fell after making starts the middle order stalled against the spinners.
Medium pacer Paris Mhambrey was benefitted from this pressure as the later batsmen hit out, claiming 4-23, while most of the spinners were hard to get away.
51 off 48 balls by Floyd Reifer entertained the crowd for a while, but by then it was too little too late, the Indian Board XI's good batting having set up an easy 80 run victory.
Man of the Match went to Devang Gandhi for his excellent innings which set up a match winning total.
The two teams now face off in a T20 match, before West Indies A take on the Indian Board President's XI in a 3 day match.
Indian Board XI won by 80 runs
